Yesterday, I used a Jim Croce quote to tell you not to mess with me on picking the NCAA tourney.
And on the first day of the tournament, I correctly picked a remarkable 14 of 16 games. That's amazing, even for me.
I mean, 14 of 16? You bet.
The Atlanta bracket was perfect -- I picked Duke, George Washington, Texas A&M and LSU, and all four won
I was 3 for 4 on the Oakland bracket -- I missed on Marquette when Alabama pulled the upset, but correctly picked Indiana, Gonzaga and UCLA.
In the Washington bracket, I was also 4 for 4, picking Washington, Illinois, Wichita State and Tennessee.
And in the Minneapolis bracket, I missed just one -- Nevada lost to Montana -- but I had the other three pegged. Boston College (one of my Final Four teams, which had to go 2 overtimes to escape pesky Pacific), Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and Florida.
You bet.
Today, 16 more games, 16 more chances for me to be dominant.

Over/Under on 21" of snow hitting Omaha on Monday? I'm taking the under. But Top Jimmy on Channel 6 said last night his "European Weather Model" tells him we're in for 12 hours of snow Sunday, then a break, and 12 hours of snow on Monday. See, one of the things that I concurrently respect/hate about Top Jimmy is he never gives you a prediction on snow amounts. Bill Randby over on Channel 7 said if everything hits right, we're in for 17-24 inches of snow. See, now that's useful information.
All I know is if there's 24 inches of snow, its not going to stop me from getting to the Creighton-Miami game Monday night. I had to miss the NIT game they won last night because of an AIGA event that ultimately didn't even happen -- I was upset enough but then people kept asking me at the bar "Wait, why aren't you at the Creighton game? I thought you were like the biggest fan ever or something?"
Stick the knife in a little more, whydontcha.
Don't worry, I won't miss the Miami game for anything, not even Three Feet Of Snow. Its not very often an ACC team comes to Omaha to get smacked down by the Jays. I'm going right now -- literally right now, as I leave for lunch -- to get my tickets. They're cool and if you have season tickets they reserve your same seats for postseason, but only for a limited time. So its off to wait outside at Morrison Stadium. I'll enjoy it because according to Top Jimmy it could be the last time I see dry pavement for some time.
You bet.
