Mystery Package

I went home for lunch today, and in my mailbox...an orange notice saying "You Have A Package in the Office!". I wasn't expecting anything. Hmm. This is exciting.

So I went down to the office, and I told Amber as she unlocked the "Package Vault" that I had no idea what this might be. "Ooh, those are the best kind of packages!" she said. Indeed.

You bet. Would it be a bomb? Fruit from the tropics? Wine from the vineyards? Hair Care products from Vidal Sassoon?

As I cut into the box, the thought of calling bomb sniffing dogs did cross my mind. After all, I'm a popular guy, I write for my own website, I have my first book being published later this month, I'm on the board of directors for a large Graphic Design organization, and I head the web design department for a $125 Million distribution company. Who wouldn't want to murder me? If ever there was a person who was bombable, it would be me!

This might be the last time you see my left hand attached in all its fleshy majesty. By photo #4, I might have one of those Luke Skywalker prosthethis things.

What's this? Bookmarks? Pencils? A Coffee Mug? This is no fun! Let's see, I don't read, I prefer pens to pencils, and I don't drink coffee. If this is from a secret admirer, they need to hire a better private investigator. If they had hired a competent P.I., they would know to send me Nutty Bars. Always Nutty Bars. I'll do anything you want for Nutty Bars. The snack treat that brings kings to their knees. Nutty Bars from Little Debbie.

Ah-ha! The contents of the mystery package were a collection of gifts from the Nebraska Golden Sower Foundation! Looks like they went to the Golden Sower Gift Shop and emptied the shelves into a box and sent 'em my way. Thanks.

Actually, I do appreciate them and I thank you, whoever. I did some free design work for them as a favor to a friend, and so its nice to be appreciated. I'm not going to link to the page because its not what I envisioned, and they refused my revamp of the logo. But if you have children here in Nebraska, chances are you'll see the site with the list of the award winning books at some point. People have heard of it, you know.
